Default Warning---guys may want to read this with caution

Diamondbacks put Byrnes, Snyder on 15-day DL

PHOENIX (AP)—On a painful day in the desert, the Arizona Diamondbacks put left fielder Eric Byrnes and catcher Chris Snyder on the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.
Byrnes is out with a strained left hamstring, Snyder with a left testicular fracture.
For Byrnes, the move comes eight days after he came off the DL, where he spent a month with injuries to both hamstrings.
Byrnes hurt his hamstring as he tried to steal third in the second inning of Arizona’s 6-3 victory over Milwaukee on Monday night. Byrnes pulled up as he went into his dive, never reached the bag and was thrown out by Jason Kendall.
Arizona manager Bob Melvin said he didn’t think Byrnes had come back too soon.

“How he felt, and the feedback we were getting from him, he was healthy enough to come back and felt like healthy enough to play on an everyday basis,” Melvin said.
Byrnes missed 25 games in his last trip to the DL, and Melvin said he fears this stint could be longer.
Conor Jackson, the Diamondbacks’ opening day first baseman, will take over in left field for now, with Chad Tracy playing first.
To fill Byrnes’ spot on the roster, the Diamondbacks selected the contract of right-hander Connor Robertson from Triple-A Tucson. Robertson appeared in three games for Oakland last year, allowing four runs and six hits in two innings.
The Diamondbacks knew Byrnes was headed for the DL on Monday night.
Snyder left Monday night’s game after being hit in the groin area by a foul tip and underwent an MRI on Tuesday. The club put him on the DL about an hour before Tuesday night’s game against Milwaukee.
Miguel Montero, batting .247 with no homers and five RBIs, replaced Snyder in the lineup.
To take Snyder’s roster spot, the Diamondbacks recalled catcher Robby Hammock from Triple-A Tucson, which is about 90 miles away. Hammock was expected to arrive at Chase Field within an hour of first pitch.
Meanwhile, right-hander Micah Owings tested his sore gluteus muscle in a bullpen session on Tuesday. If the muscle doesn’t feel right, Owings may skip his start on Wednesday. He would be replaced by righty Yusmeiro Petit, Melvin said.

The 49ers own my heart, but the Chiefs will always hold a better than neutral spot for giving my favorite player a place to leave with grace...
