    Default Holmgren.

Looks like he may be back after taking next year off. It mentions he has a home and is building a second one in CA. He has no noncompete agreements with the Seahawks so he could go anywhere if he comes back.

Hmmm... Anybody think he may wind up in San Fran or jokeland? If he goes back to where he began his career with the 'niners, that would make Mike Nolan available. I wonder where he would go.
Thanks for all the yards, TDs, and memories, Priest!

...please...PLEASE take Mike Nolan. The guy was a great Defensive coordinator, and I'll give him credit he has improved our defense...but the offense has become non-existent under his watch. I feel bad for Alex Smith's injury, but his move to the IR did relieve me as it likely signals the end to his time as a 49er. We are officially in the Tebow lottery...sad, but true!

I think there's a good shot we could get Holmgren if the timing of it all works out. He may see it as kind of the same opportunity he got with the 'hawks.

The only thing is, it will be after next season before Holmgren comes back. So, we would be stuck with Herm until then or, even worse, put our hopes in a new HC that doesn't even make it past 1 season.

And the thing about Cowher is he seems happy in the booth right now an doesn't seem to be seriously entertaining ideas to come back in a coaching or management position. Throw him enough money and he may bite but he may just not be interested any more.

We may have a shot at bringing "shot" back... I still don't know how I feel about that. I like the talent that Marty gets-- he can build really good teams but I would want somebody else in control of the game and players on the field. Marty should have nothing to do at all with play-calling.

I've hear Pioli mentioned. I doubt it. Why would he have any interest in leaving the Pats for us? More importantly, how could you convince him to leave Belichick's side? Money? I guess, maybe.

Holmgren would give KC fans the illusion that Carl P. gave a dam.

I wouldnt be surprised to see him here even tho he competes in the worst division in football.

Holmgren is a very good coach, and has had success everywhere he went. However the west coast variety system that he runs doesn't fit the personnel you guys have started to put in place...Bowe is a great vertical threat, but what I've seen at times are sloppy routes and his focus on routine catches evades him at times. Not the ideal WR for a west coast offense. Additionally the QB position is a problem as is the O-line for what Holmgren would want to accomplish.

Cowher is a much better fit, where he could use most of your current personnel and just fill in a few holes with his more conservative power pased offense. Really the difference between Cowher and Herm is the realization that you have to prioritize the O-line in the draft and you have to mix up the play calling just a little bit.

Marty only took a year or 2 off before going back to coaching. Im sure Cowher is starting to get the itch as well. I woudnt be offended to bring Marty back and let him run things either. I would prefer Cowher but Holmgren and Marty would be better than what we have or atleast diffrent.
