    CULPEPPER CANCELS VISIT WITH CHIEFS
Posted by Michael David Smith on October 27, 2008, 9:32 p.m. EDT
Daunte Culpepper will not be a Kansas City Chief.

Culpepper had a visit scheduled for tomorrow, but Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that Culpepper told the Chiefs today that he isn’t going to make the trip to Kansas City because he has a better opportunity with another team. It’s not known which team Culpepper has an offer from.

Glazer also reports that Culpepper told teams last week that he wanted to sign a contract for more than just the rest of this season, and that he wanted a 2009 payment of $10 million or more.

Obviously, no team is going to give Culpepper that kind of money, and by the end of the week Culpepper apparently realized that and told the Chiefs he wouldn’t need that much. But now Culpepper won’t be playing for the Chiefs for any amount.

Either way Im glad hes not coming. 10 mil is way to much for someone who needs a job more than a team who needs him. Besides, I doubt he has been working out on a regular basis to be in shape to take the position after signing. He would be hard pressed to be in game shape before end of season.

Or Thigpen becomes this season's Derek Anderson, and then we can snatch up a great tackle or linebacker.

If Thig gets right with us then we have 2 youngsters in Thig and CRoyle that will battle it out for the future offseason.Herm may still draft a quarterback but it will be in later rounds such as the 5th or 6th round being that Thig and Croyle are possibly 2 already given young QB's that can contribute right away for our franchise. No need to go early 1st or 2nd round for a quarterback. This allows us to bring the attention to other areas.

Here I rephrased this article for ya.

Dulpepper told the Chiefs today that after watching Tyler Thigpen play on Sunday, that he knows there would be competition for the starting role and he doesn't need someone showing him up.

He want to play for an organization that is extremely desparate and willing to over pay him.

After visiting with that team, "The LIONS" and leaving without a contract He knows he can't even get that from a desparate team now the Chiefs are a laughing at him.
