No not really!

When is Clark Hunt going to realize the Herm Edwards/Carl Peterson debacle isn't working? My God, we're 1-10. 1-10 people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got blown out at home. In all fairness the Bills defense is pretty well ranked, but their offense wasn't and they kicked our @ss. 54 points. I can't even stomach that number.

Herm Edwards by the numbers should NOT be coaching in this league.

8th season with a record of 53-70.

3rd season with the Chiefs 14-29.

I honestly can't believe the Chiefs bring Herm back for another dismal performance. Bringing him back sends a terrible message to the players, "losing is okay." No, it's not Herm. We as die hard fans, who spend a lot of money each year, deserve better. And there's no guarantee this youth experiment will even work. We could be in this thing for another few years and still put up losing records. Cut Herm, Gunther and Carl loose and let's start this thing in a different direction. A brand new GM and new coaches. Maybe keep Chan around as OC, but I'm not totally sold on him either.

At least when Schottenheimer and Vermail coached, we were in close games and always had a nail biting ending to games. But this crap is getting old.

I really hate Herm Edwards. Looking back, how the hell did we win that Denver game?

Trust me, I hate hermie too!
We won that Denver game because they had a overall bad, bad day just like today Thiggie had a bad day. I'm sure that by now the broncos are very humilated by getting beat by the chiefs.

Some seem to think the game in Oakland is a gimme. I don't think it will be. Any game against an AFC West rival is a toss up. We couldn't beat them in KC and I don't think we'll beat them in Oakland. This KC team is terribly inconsistent, as are all of Herm's teams he's coached.

I agree, the raiders will win.

I'm more afraid now it'll be a loss at Oakland after the way they handled Denver in Denver today. Although Denver played pretty badly to help the cause. But Oakland can be pretty awful in a lot of games.

The early line is Oakland by 3. But that's what Buffalo was favored by too and it went badly today.

Again, Herman Edwards is the big problem. He just doesn't seem to care if the Chiefs win. Whereas Oakland's coach looked animated and into the game today at Denver. So since Oakland wants a strong finish more, that's in their favor.

This totally sucks! Are the chiefs the only team unable to win in Denver(Assuming the raiders won in Denver today)?

On the game: “We hadn’t had a game like this in a month. You turn the ball over five times it doesn’t help you. That and the fouls gave them too much field position. I thought at times we moved the ball offensively. Defensively, I thought we did some things early but the turnovers got us. We had a couple of stands there but they had too many short fields. They’re a team that’s fighting for a playoff spot and they played that way.
“When it was close they kept coming at us offensively. We did some things offensively but the turnovers kill you. We didn’t play our game.”
On falling back to where you were as a team, not turning the corner: “No, I think it’s a game, one game. We just kept turning it over and with the fouls you can’t survive. That’s what we did. We have to get away from the turnovers and we’re one of the least penalized teams in football.”
On why so many penalties: “Guys trying to make plays - a couple of guys just not watching the ball on defense. It just kind of compounded. You can’t turn the ball over like that. You can’t give these guys short fields. We fumbled a ball on a kick and then went three-and-out and have a short punt and they got a short field. You can’t do that. It’s hard in this league.
“Then the quarterback got out of contain a couple of times, especially in the Red Zone. We really didn’t get to him a whole lot when he went back to pass. All of those things are a factor in what happened today.”
On what a game like this does to the psyche of a young team: “They’ll have to come back. They came back after the Tennessee game. We went on the road and played and had a chance to win a football game. They’re going to have to learn that, that’s part of the learning process. I anticipate they’ll come to work Monday. They know what they did wrong.
“You’ve got to play smart and not turn the ball over and be careful with the fouls. When you do that we’re very competitive. We’ve been in games the last month and the games came down to the fourth quarter. This one was not like that at all.”
On Thigpen’s play, namely turning the ball over: “Just forced a couple, trying to make some plays. The key for him and for us is how he rebounds next week. When you have a game like this you have to rebound. He’ll find out a lot about himself at quarterback. I think he can and the team will have to, too.”
On whether this is a setback for Thigpen: “He went from Atlanta to four weeks of playing pretty good and not turning the ball over. Then this happens. I don’t know if it’s a step back, but their quarterback for a month was turning the ball over. You’re never out of the woods with a young guy like that. Things like that happen. How he recovers will be very important and I think he’ll recover. That’s what we talked about on the sideline. It’s part of growing up in professional football.
“They kept throwing because they were trying to get their quarterback back because he had been struggling in the passing game. I think at the end there when you would expect them to run the ball, they didn’t do it. They kept throwing the football, I think, because they wanted to get their quarterback going.”
On not running the ball as much: “When you get behind like that, especially going into the third and fourth quarter when you’re down that many, you have to throw it. They’re really big inside and they want you to play in a phone booth and we didn’t want to play in a phone booth with these guys. We wanted to spread them out some and then try to run the ball. We did that but when we got behind we are kind of programmed into doing what we have to do.”
On being discouraged now: “I’m disappointed but when you a coach a team like this you never take anything for granted. We’ve got to get out of it.”

What really pisses me off about this article is how he throws his offense under the bus. Did Thigpen's two INTs, his fumble, and Charles's fumble hurt? Yeah. But your offense still scored 31 points. In the spread. With that line. Mistakes like these happen in games, especially when your OL is the piece of sh!t that we have.

We lost this game, not because of our offense and not because of turnovers. We lost because our defense is one of the worst to ever take a NFL field.

Our offense cannot be expected to play mistake free week in and out in the hope that our defense can only hold the opposing team to only 30 points.

My favorite stat, one I love to hate, is the following:

Since the merger between the NFL and AFL, the worst record over 20 games (ie two seasons) by a non-expansion team is now held by the the 2007-2008 Herm Edwards Chiefs at 1-19. The Chiefs are, right now, the worst team since the '76-'77 Bucs in terms of record.

If Mr. Edwards can find a way (and I'm sure he can) to lose out this season, and to go 0-3 to begin next season, the Chiefs will be 1-27. If that happens, Herm Edwards will have accumulated the worst record of all time over 28 games, expansion team or not. The 2007-2009 Herm Edwards Chiefs will officially be the worst team ever.

I think it is safe to say the Chiefs will lose the rest of the year. Even if the players do play good enough to win, Herm will call a couple of time outs while the other team is driving and running out of time to hel aide another lose.

We are on a 1-19 streak right now, but right on our heels is Detroit at 1-18. And they don't play a single team the rest of the year that has a losing record. So they could very well go 0-16, the first time that ever happened and the first time a team went winless since those Bucs in '76 (0-14). As long as we can get just one more win this year, the Lions could take over this dubious stat.

going 2-14 would be a miracle considering the defense can't stop sh!t. Line anyone up in the back field, the kicker, the punter, the place kicker, any of those could post +100 yards against the chiefs defense.
