I've always known Tony Gonzalez as a beautiful human being. The fact that he always had great work ethics is only the tip of the iceberg. His work ethics prove that he has honor; last season he always did his best even though the chiefs as a whole sucked big time. Sure there was a player or two that also was doing good, but they were in it just for themselves. Tony was always into charities and for that he is a beautiful human being.

Whatta guy, huh? He's been disappointed for years, finally requests his trade, then gets denied. So he plays harder than ever. On top of that he continues to give to the community.

I understand if he leaves this team after this season, and though I want him to be able to play for a contender, it would kill me to see him go. Guys like this have DEFINED Kansas City Chiefs football for years. I remember Derrick Thomas doing the same thing tirelessly every single Christmas.

I want a successful team, but if it comes down to having a successful team full of bad people or a bad team full of guys with the mentality of Tony, I'll take the latter ANY day.

Class act all the way. His value as a mentor is just as high off the field, as it is on.

I've always liked Tony for all the reasons stated above; I've read some varying points of view from other Chiefs sites, but for my money is simply one of the very best players in the league - on and off the field. :)
