Default Herm, Gun and Chan all absent from the Senior Bowl

They are now reporting that our head coach and his two coordinators did not make the trip up to the senior bowl with Pioli and the scouts. This is an obvious sign of what's to come. Gun and Gailey are both interviewing for other jobs, which may excuse their absence but nobody can justify Herm not being there. The signs are obvious: Pioli is cleaning house. Say your goodbyes, everyone.

Why not? Hell, Bill Parcels coached on 6 college teams before coaching in the NFL...

I think Pioli has already firmed up his choice and Herm and his assistants have been notified that they won't be needed next season. I'm assuming it's a coach on a playoff team and that's why the Chiefs are waiting to formally announce. I never thought for a minute they would keep Herm with Pioli coming in. Talk about disappointing your fan base if they did.

Doesn't mean Herm shouldn't go. Maybe he can find a job.

Gawd this is pathetic. Everybody in this town (Columbus) has on a F'n Pittsburg hat, coat, towel, whatever, and I sit here with the only encouragement being I hope our douchbag coach gets fired. Oh, wait. I have booze, may be able to pull this evening out yet.

This is indeed good news if accurate.

This HAS to be a good sign. Why on earth would our core coaching staff not go to the premier evaluation event of the pre-draft season?

My hopefull theory is that the Chiefs organization is sensitive to the fact that we have a minority head coach, and it may not be the best move to fire him on MLK day or the day we swear in our nation's first minority president.

I think tomorrow may be a good day...

Wouldn't be surprised to see a Shanahan announcement.

... like I said, my hopefull theory.

Aside from my general, overall dislike for Shanarat I must admit he would be better then Herm; of course, that ain't really sayin much.

Actually they can interview coaches during the media week (this week) before the superbowl. The problem is that you cannot formally request to interview someone unless you announce you are firing the current guy.

I dont know much about Todd Haley, other than the fact that he is an OC and has Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald AND Anquan Boldin to strategize around. I personally want a Defensive coach. I want someone to bring us back to the days of DT and Neil Smith giving QBs and OCs nightmares the week leading up to our games. Those were the good ole days.
