    Default Tony Gonzalez Interview

TG is going to be interviewed on sportscenter in the upcoming hour. If you are home you might want to watch. It should be interesting.

I wonder what he will have to say, after all he said he didnt want to come back if Herm didnt.

Here are some excepts that I got from the ESPN interview:

    Regarding the Chiefs targeting Shanahan:
His resume speaks for itself. I would have no problem with that. He is a proven winner. I think that would be great for the Chiefs.

How will this affect your future with the Chiefs?
A guy like Pioli is great. The only concern I have is how long it will take? The word I hate most is rebuilding. I don't have much time left. I have a 2 year window. Right now, I definitely want to stay a Chief.

Overall, he seemed content with staying a Chief.

He also said he had heard good things about Shanahan from his former players and they all had good things to say about him. He feels Shanny would be a good addition to the Chiefs

Tony sounded like he's loyal to the Chiefs as long as he feels that we make the moves to win right away.

I have faith that Pioli will sign superstars to keep a superstar.

ya know this could work out quite well, who knows the Bronks better than Shanny, with another good draft and some nice FA's and some real coaching we might learn to say words like AFC WEST CHAMPS and PLAYOFFS

Me too. I think Pioli realizes that the draft is a very important piece of the puzzle, BUT it's not the only piece. Herm and Carl apparently forgot that last year and they and the Chiefs paid the ultimate price.

I couldn't see Tony leaving after the Chiefs signed Pioli. Who doesn't want to be a part of a dynasty.
