Yeah, we're not signing these guys top be our new starting NT. We're either drafting a NT in the 1st or 3rd, or we're going to try Tank/Dorsey at the spot.

I'd rather save Shaun Rogers who is demanding a trade out of Cleveland. I'm sure he would love to play for Crennel's 3-4 defense if Crennel comes here.

Rogers wants a release because Mangini didn't say "hi" to him in the hallway. How do you think he and Haley would get along?

Good point. But I think it is all a ploy to get a new deal. Name a good NT on the market right now. The way the league has fallen in love with the 3-4, he could get big bucks.

In the draft if we dont get Raji in the first, I think we should consider these guys that might be available in the 3rd Round:

    Ron Brace, BC
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 330.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.47.
    Benchx225: 32
He had 10 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks last year. Was in the top 5 in bench for DL. He did pretty well at the Sr. Bowl too from what I heard.

    Chris Baker, Hampton
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 326.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.03.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.02.
    Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 35.5.
A 5.02 40 is ridiculously fast for a 326lb-er. He is a Jr that declared and he had 16.5 tackles for a loss and 8.5 sacks. However, he did go to a Div 1-AA school and the 24 in the bench is concerning for a NT.

    Tank Tyler's scouting report:

Weighs 306. Looks like he weighs 406. Benched 225 lbs. a whopping 42 times. Top nose tackle in draft.

Tank was around 330 in college and lost weight for the combine and NFL. He was the top NT in the 2007 draft and by far the strongest guy in that draft. Tank could honestly be a PRO BOWL NT if we switch to a 3-4.

forty times aren't that important for a NT. Bench press and vertical are better indicators as they have to be stong and exsplosive.
Of our current D linemen, Tank would be the best fit. Dorsey will be tried at DE.

Here is a pretty good read on Tank. He says he is very comfortable at the NT position in a 3-4 and can gain more weight. Seems like he might have kept some of the weight off since we never went 3-4.
