Default Chiefs sign CB Travis Daniels

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Tuesday that the club has agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent CB Travis Daniels.
Daniels (6-1, 195) has played in 51 games (26 starts) during his four-year NFL career with Miami (2005-07) and Cleveland (2008). He has recorded 126 tackles (93 solo), three interceptions for 31 yards, 19 passes defensed, two fumble recoveries and one QB pressure. He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft choice (104th overall) of the Dolphins in 2005.
The Hollywood, Florida native was a two-year starter and four-year letterman at Louisiana State, appearing in 33 games (26 starts). Daniels produced 109 tackles, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions and 38 passes defensed for the Tigers. He started all 14 games as a junior in 2003 when he was a member of an LSU squad that won the BCS National Championship Game and included current Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe and C Rudy Niswanger. He was a first-team Class 4A All-Florida selection as a senior at South Broward High School in Hollywood, Florida.

Could be a nice backup... pretty big for a CB.

If you figure Leggett/Carr/Flowers...Daniels would be the transition guy and our fourth corner...I think its a good fit, he played in a 3-4 last year...

Nothing more than a special teams and depth guy. He's one of those tweeners, not strong/physical enough to play safety and not fast enough and lacking the hips to be a good corner. He does have good size and is a good tackler which helps him excel on ST.
