Default Is Matt Cassel our Quarterback of the future?

Just curious to see how us chief fan's feel about Matt Cassell. Argue why or why Matt Cassell isn't the QOTF.

I think Matt Cassel will be our Zack Greinke and wake this sleeping giant all the way to the Superbowl.

Before he came I was saying no no no.

Now that he is here I am being cuatiously optimistic, and reserving judgement until he has had time under center for the Kansas City Chiefs.

He is intended to be by our GM/HC. He will be our starter in 2009 at least so long as he stays healthy and avoids setting records of badness.

As to whether he will actually be our QBOTF, only time will tell. My guess is that Cassel will be to the Chiefs what Hasselbeck was/is to the Seahawks. A QB good enough to lead a team to a SB, but who will never be a big stats guy.

I hope you mean the current version of him. Remember the off field problems he had the first year?

Yes... I agree with the sentiment that he won't necessarily be an 'off the charts' stat guy but will be a consistent performer and a guy that can win games.
