    Default Break-Out QB's in 2009

From the list below, who do you think will break-out and have a better season than expected?

I did throw in a back-up or two just in case!

You set this one up well! Cassel is obviously the best QB on that list.

Yes, I think he's better than the overrated Romo.

LOL, yeah i thought Cassel was the obvious one as well..

But im telling you to WATCH OUT for Matt Ryan...Tony G, Roddy White, Michael Turner, Jerious Norwood, that is a dynamic offense that can attack from all over the field...He will be the next big time QB....

And from what I am hearing out of Falcons camp, Ryan has improved tenfold in the offseason. All of his guys are giving him incredible praise on his work ethic, his intelligence and his time in the gym.

His guys are stoked for this season and rightfully so when considering their offensive weaponry.

My question is: Can the D answer the call?

    We will see!

IMO they can reach the SB in '09, but if they don't (and don't in TG's career years) I'm wondering what he's gonna be thinking. He changed team and didn't win a SB. IMO, if he wanted a SB ring he should've changed to a team that get's close each year (us soon to be) like pittsburgh or some team. I still think he should've stayed on the chiefs though!

I think Atlanta has a great shot at the SB, mostly because there just aren't many impressive teams in the NFC. Their biggest problem will be the Eagles.

IMO we are already saying that Cassell will do well so if he has a breakout season (meaning he'll do better than we think) he'll be able to basicaly through for mile!

Due to the confidence in the ratings for Matt Cassell, I hope you understand that this means you are saying that he will have a better year than he did last year!! Pretty tall order but I hope so!

I put Brady Quinn...I think a few others Flacco, Cassell and Romo will have good seasons, but all of them have already done so. To me a 'breakout' season is the first time you've achieved a level. Cassell leaving the offense with Moss and company is going to struggle to put up the same level of numbers as he did. I think he'll be good, but doubtful he has a career year...same with Romo. As for Flacco he showed up as a rookie, but I don't like the surrounding cast that well and I think he ends up looking like Palmer in Cincy where he has to pass too much and can't be very efficient. I like the spot Quinn is in to win the job and as he hasn't started before, that would be the biggest step forward on that list...

I'd love to say Alex Smith (as a 49er fan) but frankly he's a system QB and isn't going to fit the power offense/play action scheme I expect out the 49ers this season.

The 49ers own my heart, but the Chiefs will always hold a better than neutral spot for giving my favorite player a place to leave with grace...
