Default Many People Believe that Dwayne Bowe Will Have a Break Out Season In 2009. The Buzz!

I Just noticed that the name Dwayne Bowe is everywhere right now. Alot of high expectations for him this year. A star WR in Kansas City? It doesn't even sound right. I've been a Chiefs fan for so long that I cant believe it until I see it. We've had some good ones and even Bowe has been awsome as of late, but to have a superstar top flight WR with an arrowhead on his helmet.....That would be awsome.! Good luck geeting to the next level Dwayne!

Now obviously there is alot of other positions that he could have signed other than WR, so I agree that they want more production out of that area, but it does not have anything to do with Bowe. I was reading an article last night that was saying that Bowe was the only consistent reciever in camp and that him and Cassell are "Hot" right now.

Bowe is fine. I dont think Toomer's signing has anything to do with him period.
I think you are ignoring reality. I am just trying to keep you all aware. Bowe is not untouchable. He is not a Pioli or Haley guy and if he does not perform, they can cut him. If the signing of Toomer is not eye opening for Bowe, don't be surprised if Haley benches his butt in favor a player who does not make the stupid mistakes Bowe is historicaly known for, IE Toomer.

I think Haley made it very clear to Devard Darling yesterday and the team that he will not tolerate those mistakes. He sent him to the locker room for lining up wrong in situational drills.

The money issue you presented does not include how much was allocated towards the signing of Cassel and Jackson. Between the two they could easily make up 50 million just this year, depending on how Pioli structured their contracts.

The signing of Toomer could be just that. More depth, but it could also be a safety valve for Bowe. Don't be so closed minded to think Bowe is untouchable. If you disagree talk to Matt Leinart and A. Boldin.

I also think it is a bit extreme to think that a wide receiver signing in the middle of training camp means we have no No. 1 receiver. Bowe is a number 1 receiver hands down. Yes, he has had a lot of dropped balls at some most opportune times. But that is not good enough out of a third year receiver.

In reality, we all knew we had no true no. 2 receiver going back to last season. Darling was not the stud signing Peterson hoped he could become. Engram is a slot guy and a situational receiver. Haley discussed a lot about consistency during camp about his receivers. Bradley was the only other guy we had and he is a pretty bi-polar as receivers come. Some games he'll be on fire and others he can't get open and drop every pass that comes his way. In other words, we have no No. 2 receiver who could be that consistent guy alongside Bowe. Maybe Toomer can be that consistent guy to be the safety valve when Bowe is being double/triple covered. Bowe is not in danger at all.

This is Piolis and Haleys team. Bowe wasn't drafted by them. You play heady fundamental football (run your routes, don't drop the damn ball), or you clean out your locker. That being said, I hope Bowe wins us some games and gets to the pro bowl this year.

I'll admit, I hated on Bowe for missing the easy catches while keenly displaying the ability to make the circus grabs, but if you think about it, it's really encouraging, and only goes to diagnose Dwayne's weakness in this game: focus.

If the man can make all those circus catches, he CAN make the easy receptions. It's just a matter of getting the man to focus and not to think ahead of the reception itself. I promise you that most of his drops were because the guy was already plotting his next move downfield, taking the reception itself for granted.

Fortunately, this IS a treatable condition, and I think that all the hype for Bowe may very well be warranted.

The season's just around the corner, guys.. .I dunno about you, but I CAN NOT WAIT.

I am sorry. I keep hearing people ask Haley how Bowe did today, and he keeps stating. That no one person has a job secured on this team yet. He keeps saying we will put people on the field that plays the way we want them to play.

There has been more than once that I have come away after listening to Haley thinking he isn't at all impressed with Bowe and he is either trying to light a fire under Bowe's behind, or is hinting that Bowe may not be the starter.

It is also very clear to me, that Haley makes decisions based on other intangible qualities, and I don't think he is seeing those in the Bowe Show.

I too don't think logically that Bowe won't start, but there is tons of signs coming form Haley that you shouldn't be surprised. The signing of Toomer could very well be a one year band aid until they can find a better solution next year. It is not very common for a team to pick up a player just after camp starts, unless someone gets hurt. It is not about filling a roster. They are having to cut players to make room for new signings. Someone got Haley's attention to find additional help. It may be Jeff Webb, Devard Darling etc... but someone got Haley concerned and from the interviews, it sounds like it is either Darling or Bowe.

I just read that Bowe is now running with Second String. Is that just to give other players reps or could the warning signs I tried to share, be possible.

He is in disfavor of the Head Coach, for not being mentally prepared.
