He'll be re-instated. The NFL likes its story lines, just like any other form of entertainment. The "Wait-and-see" factor is just to provide an element of suspense/offer an out to the organization if he's brazen enough to do something else as stupid as his dog fighting ring. They're betting that he won't, and I'm betting that that's a pretty safe bet.
Despite the horrendous things he's done, I'm sure Vick will behave as a stand-up guy the remainder of his NFL career. Whether this behavior truly reflects the man's actual moral compass doesn't really matter. Vick paid just about the most severe of tolls for his actions and had "the life" taken away from him. It visibly shook him. He wants money more than he wants to see dogs slaughter each other.
Don't get me wrong, I think the guy's an (pardon the pun) S.O.B for essentially torturing animals, but I'm quite certain that he at least learned that he can't indulge in behavior like that while he's associated with an international commercial product like the NFL.
I am curious, though, if the Eagles will find a way to get Michael in their offense this year, since he probably won't be playing QB unless McNabb gets hurt. I'm also wondering about the figures. How much did he get signed for? He was bragging a few months back that he'd get a 30 or 50 mil contract. It would really ease my mind to know that he got something significantly less.
