WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT …

    THE OFFENSE
Tight end Tony Gonzalez injured his knee on one of the last plays of practice. He limped off the field when it was over, but the injury didn’t appear to be serious. … Edwards said the starters, with Damon Huard at quarterback, should play into the second quarter against Miami. … Justin Medlock made all five of his field-goal attempts from 30, 35, 41, 47 and 55 yards.
    THE DEFENSE
The Chiefs had a different alignment in their nickel defense from what they had shown previously. Rookie nickel back Tyron Brackenridge was replaced by Benny Sapp, who played cornerback with Patrick Surtain shifting to nickel back. … Starting tackle Alfonso Boone, who has been limited because of an injured finger, should play against the Dolphins. … Safety Bernard Pollard came a long way to break up a sideline pass intended for Eddie Kennison in a 2-minute drill.
    INJURY REPORT
Running backs Priest Holmes (conditioning) and Boomer Grigsby (rib), wide receivers Rod Gardner (groin) and Maurice Price (shoulder), tight end Jason Dunn (back), offensive linemen Damion McIntosh (knee), Chris Bober (hip) and George Batiste (knee) and linebackers Kendrell Bell (back) and David Hicks (knee) did not practice.

Looks as if he exhibits the consitancy from the short through intermediate and finally long range field goals that Tynes struggled with.
