Bowe to Jets -a rumor

Apparently, Jets coach Rex Ryan has stopped talking long enough to realize that his team has yet to find a capable replacement for receiver Laveranues Coles.

And so the Jets, per Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News, have had preliminary discussions with a few teams regarding a trade for a veteran wideout.

According to Cimini, the biggest name on the team's radar is Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall. Though the Broncos have shown no willingness to trade Marshall, the relationship between player and team is tenuous, to say the least. That said, Marshall has way too many question marks hovering over his career, both on and off the field.

Cimini also floats the name of Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe as a possible target, but we can't imagine Kansas City trading one of their only quality players -- cough . . . Tony Gonzalez . . . cough.

As Cimini points out, Jets G.M. Mike Tannebaum has a reputation for making deals late in the preseason. Still, it's difficult for a receiver to make an impact in a new offense without the benefit of participating in the offseason program and training camp.

But it nevertheless looks like something could be happening. And that's good news for the Jets, because beyond Jerricho Cotchery the team doesn't have many quality targets for rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez.

i wouldn't be suprised if it happen. But the guy threw his name in there so its not for sure and we haven't heard talks or anything

New York Jets still looking for receivers

The Jets are apparently in the market for a wide receiver and the supposed targets that keep getting mentioned are Denver Bronco Brandon Marshall (notes) and Kansas City Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe (notes), according to the National Football Post.
Both of those players appear to be longshots to join the New York Jets. It remains unclear that Denver would be willing to trade Marshall and, even if the team would do such a thing, the price would likely be much too high for the Jets to want to make such a trade.
And while Kansas City is probably more likely to trade Bowe than the Broncos to trade Marshall, his price would be fairly high as well, perhaps more than the Jets want to spend.

on second thought we did get rid of Jared allen, trent green, and im sure either Brodie or Thiggy will be gone...Oh and Tony G.

Jets get:
Bowe

Chiefs get:
2010 1st
2011 2nd

THEN Pioli and Haley sit down and put the phone on speaker and give the Cards a call "SURPRISE!!!!!! We will take Boldin off your hands!!!!"

Chiefs get:
Boldin

Cards get:
2010 2nd
2011 2nd

ALL of this would:

CHIEFS

Gain:
Boldin
2010 1st

Lose:
Bowe
2010 2nd

We would STILL have a 2010 2nd but be gaining an extra 1st rounder. I still think Bowe is the better/younger WR of the two BUT getting Boldin AND a 1st seems like better value to me? Just think what we coudl do with that extra 1st? We coudl spend one of those 1st on a STUD WR and have Boldin AND a young stud WR for 2010? SOOO we would be giving up Bowe/2nd for Boldin/young stud WR.... Seems like a WIN WIN to me?

JETS:

Gain:
Bowe

Lose:
2010 1st
2011 2nd

Everyone thinks it would take at LEAST a 1st/3rd this year and maybe a player to get it done.... YES the Jets give up a 1st and 2nd but in different years SOOO its way better for them.

CARDS:

Gain:
2010 2nd
2011 2nd

Lose:
Boldin

The Cards have been in and out of it with Boldin and his current contract and with Boldin STILL not being happy and the front office knowing they will have to pay him sometime they are more then happy to unload him for TWO 2nd's. The rumor WAS a 2nd and a player, but I would think two 2nds would rly catch there eye!!!!!!
