I left Minnesota on Saturday morning convinced that Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, head coach Brad Childress and quarterback Brett Favre do not respect the game. Friday’s Chiefs-Vikings exhibition was the first Chiefs preseason road game I’d ever attended that didn’t involve a Hall of Fame induction.

Now this is one bizarre column. In other words, it's typical Whitlock.

But the whole Brett Favre thing the past 2 years has been bizarre in itself so I'll cut Jason a little slack. But saying they only signed him to sell more tickets and to sell Favre jerseys to help fund a new stadium with an election year coming up next year with a new governor? Sounds pretty wild. But I guess could happen to be true, heh. After all, the Vikings fans wasted no time in buying the jerseys already.

To say the Vikings owner, head coach, and Favre do not respect the game of football seems very over the top though. But it was his first paragraph and I guess Whitlock likes hyperbole to grab immediate attention and interest in his columns.
