Default Need to Sign - Langston Walker

Bills bounce Langston Walker | ProFootballTalk.com

Langston Walker was released. Starting RT for the Bills last 3 seasons and was the incumbent for the LT position but wouldn't rework his contract.

    Upgrade...

Interresting.. Would be an upgrade at RT i'd say.
Now with Runyan in town.. It will be interresting to see what happens.

Runyan 36 - Played RT for a long, long time.
Walker 30 - Has been the Bill's the starting LT for 3 years.

Hmm.. I don't know enough about either to make an educated guess at who would be best, but 36 does seem quite old..

If Runyan has anything left he's at least is a pretty good stop gap until next draft.(oh yeah, what Chiefster said)

Scouts Inc. has Walker ranked as the 41st best OT in the league, tied with Tony Pashos. I think we should definitely be taking a look at this guy.

The past two seasons, Walker has been a steady performer at the right tackle position for the Bills. Langston is a seven-year veteran who has outstanding size but limited athletic ability. He isn't a powerful blocker at the point of attack, but Walker can lock on and stay connected once engaged. He is a solid reactor to stunts and twists and has a feel for body positioning and how to gain leverage. His long arms and initial punch keeps defenders at bay. Walker lacks the great lateral agility, quickness and balance to be effective in space and on the second level. He has a tough time staying connected versus athletic defenders and hitting moving targets.

At this point, all I know is that we will be picking up somebody on top of the O'Callaghan signing. It doesnt look like Pioli will be letting Cassel get injured again.
