Default Could Chase Daniel beat out....

Could Chase Daniel beat out these projected starters - Matt Cassel, RG3, Josh McCown, Brian Hoyer, Nick Foles, Sam Bradford, Andy Dalton, Ryan Fitzpatrick, or, I dare say, Alex Smith?
I think Chase is ready to start somewhere. And why do you guys think that Chase isn't getting a legit shot to beat out Smith? Money?
Is Chase the next Big Ben? Aaron Rogers? Who knows. But I will say this:
Chase Daniel is the best QB on the Chiefs roster. There - I said it. Nothing against Alex - he's ok. But it looks like it's gonna take an injury before Chase gets his shot.

Whatever dude. Chase is unproven. He played and beat the chargers 2 years in a row yes... But last season he didn't get a TD to a WR either. He hasn't proven to be better than anyone yet and in his defense he's never gotten the opportunity to either. But to say he's the best QB on this roster is insane because we haven't seen enough of him

II think we would be screwed if Alex got hurt, so I'm gonna say if Smith got hurt and Chase had to play I doubt he could beat Peyton, or Big Ben and the rest. He would make it close, he is a quality Backup and were lucky to have him but he will never be a starter on any team. Much delusion I since in you

Omg. Im not even going to open this thread again. I sweryour intentionally trying to start a war here. Hes played against backups. Your on chase crazy train. All hype. Just cuz he went to mizzou or arlund here somewhere doesnt mean hes the best on the team. Theres a reason why hes a backup. You sir lost all credibility in ky book with saying chase is the best qb on the team. Hes only started 2 meaningless games besides preseason and that doesnt mean crap when they didnt mean anything. I knew this was coming. You must love stevie ray.

I think he could beat out some.

But we also have to keep in mind while he has been good even great this preseason he is going against the 2s.

He could probably beat out half of the guys on that list. Alex isn't one of them. I think Chase is a great backup, and could start on a team, but that team wouldn't go anywhere unless they had a stellar OL, running game, defense, etc.

Chase is slow to make his reads and doesn't have a strong arm. He reminds me a lot of Cassell before he got beaten into having happy feet.

I don't know if he's better than Smith, but I'd sure like to see him get a chance. I'll say this: I'm pretty confident that Daniel could lead a 29th-ish ranked pass offense - which is typically what Smith does.

I don't know why people are so adverse to the idea. When your pass offense has ranked 24th and 29th, with a QB that hasn't in 10 NFL seasons led a pass offense ranked higher than 24th, his abilities should indeed be called into question. For whatever reason, this logic drives people crazy.

We will never know until he really gets substantial play time with starters against starters. Right now though, his composure as he stands in there to deliver the thrown knowing he is about to get rocked says he mentally he is there. The question left is how does he deliver the ball when the game faster. Will he see the receivers as well as he is, when they are covered more, or will the defenders break on him. The two Charger games leads me to believe he is ready, but in those games, he wasn't lights out. He was just running Andy's offense but that is something he can build off.

I try to avoid flaming anyone unless I feel they are being pedantic. And you aren't.

Daniel has without a doubt looked pretty good in pre-season.....against other teams #2s--and playing with the guys he has practiced with.

I am certainly not convinced that Daniel offers anything Alex doesn't but it would be interesting to see Daniel get 2 or 3 quarters against some other teams #1s.

That said, I don't think we will see it happen unless GOD FORBID Alex gets hurt. Reid knows that QB controversies are seldom good for a team and at this point I can't possibly imagine Reid would do anything that would encourage uncertainty at the QB spot.

In the two chargers games I saw a QB who was slow and floated a lot of passes, compared to Smith. He got away with a lot of it because their other team didn't game plan for him and didn't have much video of him. That's just my opinion, though.
