    Default Potential Draftee Bites Dust

Clemson T/G Brandon Thomas tore his ACL during pre-draft training last week.

It's a disappointing blow for one of our favorite O-Line prospects in this draft. Thomas manhandled Jadeveon Clowney in Clemson's 2013 matchup with South Carolina, and was a 36-game starter on Tajh Boyd's blind side. He was a sleeper to be drafted in the first round. Thomas won't be available for his rookie NFL season, though some teams may now view him as a "value" pick.
It's a shame. He was a nice fit for KC, if they could recoup a late R2/early R3 pick somehow.
    ...in my opinion

Maybe we get to pick him up as a UDFA?

I like the way you think pally! I’d consider burning an R6 on him. It might pay dividends long term.

We do not have enough draft picks to pick him. But if we used a 6 on him I wouldn't be heartbroken. He won't be a UDFA. Somebody with extra picks will draft him and give him the year off to recover. Too bad we are not in that boat. :(

Things like this won't happen next year. Things NEVER line up right for the Chiefs. When we have many picks or picking high it's never a deep draft. Can you say Tyson Jackson? Or Eric Fisher (at top)? It's sad, really.

I know. But that is something we can do nothing about. "Luck", "Karma" whatever you want to call it, there is an old saying...."If it wasn't for bad luck we would have no luck at all."

All that aside, I like our HC, I like our GM and I am more optimistic about our Chiefs long term than I have been in over a decade. We're moving in the right direction.
