Default Footbal In Spanish.. Will You Watch?

To celebrate "Hispanic Heritage Month" The NFL is forcing their affiliates to play spanish language ads, have spanish language singers and refer to Football as "Futbol Americano"

The network doesn't seem to care that 100% of their audience speaks and understands english and instead is trying to push their own website www.nflatino.com without giving care to the rest of their audience.

I for one will quit watching football for the next month. What will you do?

I don't care what they do, I will still watch the Chiefs.

The NFL is pretty greedy, but you have to love your team!

I live in Phoenix, and grew up in California. I've become accustomed over my life to most everything being bilingual. This doesn't bother me nearly as much as it is a privately owned business...what bothers me is when my taxes foot the bill for things being in multiple languages. (drivers license tests, election materials, etc.)

The 49ers own my heart, but the Chiefs will always hold a better than neutral spot for giving my favorite player a place to leave with grace...

That's a shame. I like my team too, but I won't let the NFL force me and my nation into this bi-lingual nonsense. Especially when anyone watching CBS, FOX, NBC or ESPN already speaks and understands english. To me it's a slap in the face and racist.

    AGREED and then AGREED again.

If you want to be a real Chiefs fan, you mute the TV & turn on www.kcfx.com and listen to real announcers, despite the delay.

    Cerveza, por favor.
Chiefs - MUI BIEN! Ariba ariba!

    VIVA LA CHIEFS!

    Hey guy I'm not racist.

Would it hurt you to learn a new language?

Almost every other nation teaches english to their students.

We could use a little more relations with our international brethren.

I don't think we all need to learn spanish but it's not the end of the USA, is it?

it is headed towards the end of the USA as it once was, and is turning more into a socialist state every day. Keep on giving up your freedoms people. Nah, im not talking about wire tapping. Big deal. Im talking about government regulations, accomidating your lives for global warming nonsense, paying for your neighbors health care, being taxed for "emmisions" you are putting into the air. some crazy stuff.

Well that is a pretty biased opinion about the USA.

We used to be about people loving us because of our freedoms. They are disappearing at an alarming rate in my opinion.

Seriously what is the deal with Spanish?

It's not that hard to learn.

    Have an open mind.

This is not a political board. I think we can leave it outside. The spanish in the NFL is all about $, so it is economics. If you want to sell TV deals & jerseys in spanish speaking countries, you have to show the love.

I would say new thread for "illegals & racists". I have lots to say there, but it's not related to the CHIEFS and that's all I care about today!

Let's focus on the football / NFL here....

    just my opinion....

And realistically, I doubt too many on the board on game day after the first win care to hear about racists theories...
