I find myself reading this board and it seems to be in such a panic. Rightfully so maybe, we got destroyed in the first off-season phase of free agency. We do have some holes primarily in depth some with more immediate needs. However if fisher, Kelce, commings, Cooper, Catapano if these guys can step up and some contribute some start and do well. How much stress does that relieve surrounding this team?

Personally I think this team is not in bad shape and you have to love the freedom and flexibility we have with our first round pick. Ya we are Read more…

Hey Chiefs Crowd,

The Chiefs have been “slow” to get things done this offseason. Most fans are upset about the lack of moves that Kansas City has made after going 11-5 last season. So, Chiefs fans, what positions do you all think the team HAS to address now? And what do you think can wait till next year or after?

Here’s my take:
I think the key positions of need are Middle Linebacker, Outside Linebacker, Offensive Guard, Offensive Tackle, Free Safety, and Defensive End.

Now, Outside Linebacker, Offensive Guard, Defensive End, and Defensive End are positions that mostly need depth. Read more…

Clemson T/G Brandon Thomas tore his ACL during pre-draft training last week.

It’s a disappointing blow for one of our favorite O-Line prospects in this draft. Thomas manhandled Jadeveon Clowney in Clemson’s 2013 matchup with South Carolina, and was a 36-game starter on Tajh Boyd’s blind side. He was a sleeper to be drafted in the first round. Thomas won’t be available for his rookie NFL season, though some teams may now view him as a “value” pick.

It’s a shame. He was a nice fit for KC, if they could recoup a late R2/early R3 pick somehow. Read more…

ESPN’s Adam Teicher doesn’t expect the Chiefs to consider signing free agent Jason Avant until after the draft.

Avant played under Andy Reid for seven seasons in Philadelphia and could provide depth for Kansas City’s shallow receiver corps. Wherever Avant ends up, he shouldn’t require more than the veteran minimum.

Not interested. Just another meh signing to fill the roster. Read more…

Retired ILB Rolando McClain will meet with Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome on Friday.

McClain is meeting with Newsome to “discuss a possible future” in Baltimore, but it’s possible he’ll be granted his release. The Ravens still own McClain’s rights following his abrupt 2013 “retirement.” “I’m excited about the game again,” McClain said. “I’m excited to play. I’m excited to be around some damn teammates.” McClain was a major bust before hanging up his cleats, but is still only 24 years old. He should at least be able to crack someone’s offseason roster, perhaps even Baltimore’s.

Call me a fool, but I would Read more…

The free agent offerings have been picked over. There’s very little left. Maybe KC could get Sid Rice on a one-year prove it deal.

There’s the draft, of course. The draft may add an immediate contributor, but you shouldn’t count on it. It unrealistic to expect immediate help coming at one or more positions. Eric Fisher did very little last year.

This team has holes or question marks at LE, LILB, FS, LG, RG, LT, RT and WR2. They’ve either filled in the gaps with lesser talent (Joe Mays, Vance Walker) or are relying Read more…

The Dolphins signed Branden Albert to be their left tackle in 2014, but the question of who will start at right tackle remains unsettled. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins will soon visit with a potential candidate for the job. Salguero reports that Jason Fox, who went to college at the…
