With camps opening this week I thought I would give my thoughts and expectations for the year. Many have stated that they are expecting the Chiefs to take a step backwards this season. And I would have to agree with that. However I don’t think they are going to take a huge step back. My expectations is this team to contend for a playoff spot but come up a bit short. Not too long ago, if you were to listen to Mitch Holthus on The Kansas City Chiefs broadcast you would hear him yell “TOUCHDOWN, Kansas City Chiefs” which was quite often followed by, “TOUCHDOWN, Tony Gonzalez!!!” Since those days the Chiefs had tried to replace the talent that was lost at tight end, with no positive results. Could this be the turnaround season, to which the Chiefs find their next long-term tight end?

On the roster as of 6/30/14 the Chiefs have a total of five tight ends.
