Chiefs’ pro scouting, football administration directors won’t return

Chiefs director of pro scouting Will Lewis and Trip MacCracken, the team’s director of football administration, were not retained by the franchise, sources confirmed to The Star on Monday.
Lewis, 58, is a former NFL cornerback with more than 20 years of scouting and front-office experience. He spent time in Green Bay as a scout and pro personnel assistant before joining Seattle in 1999, where he served as the club’s director of pro personnel until 2009, Read more…

The Kansas City Chiefs visited with free agent guard Andrew Tillerearlier this offseason but he left without a contract from the Chiefs. That changes today as the Chiefs announce they have signed Tiller to a contract.

We’ve seen ESPN, CBS and others laying off NFL commentators. I don’t much care. Haven’t much cared who was the commentator since Cosell got canned. But one thing does concern me. Are the networks not making enough money broadcasting NFL games? TV rights are probably the biggest single source of revenue for the NFL. NFL salary cap is based on revenue. If the networks are losing money on their broadcast rights then maybe they won’t pay as much as they have in the past when they renegotiate their contracts. That would mean Read more…
