That being said, I think your personal convictions are harming our country.
I’m happy that your family is doing well, but think about the other folks here in America that aren’t doing so hot, and how they are gonna be in worse shape without health care, and their sons and daughters dying in Iraq and Afghanistan.
If those issues still don’t affect your opinion, then I would say you need to re evaluate some things.
I am all for helping the needy. My family gives regularly to charitable organizations. I don’t have garage sales, I give it away to the poor.
What I absolutely hate is setting up a system that people can ABUSE to their hearts content. Allowing the government to support you during tough times is one thing but making ones life on it and feeling entitled to it is another.
This is going to become a socialist country one day and that scares me to death.
