Vista has been much better since SP1 came out. I am actually considering going back to it full time now.
Just got my wife a new laptop with Vista on it and aside from just getting used to the new OS it seems to run very well. Many of the people I’ve talked to recently seem to have few to no problems with it.

I have never tried any of the other platforms, linux, eg. I’m scared of wrecking my computer. Maybe I’m blind by not having tried the other systems, but I don’t mind the windows operating system. In fact I like it. I do have computer crashes from time to time, but it usually a function of hardware limitations(Ram, processor speed, etc). It has the least amount of compatibility problems of any OS on the market.
