Thanks Chiefster…hope you know how invaluable you are to Chiefs Crowd for sure!
Thanks pbatrucker too, and everyone else.
Today seems a bit tougher than even yesterday with missing Lily, but having been through the mourning stages before, I know as time passes my heart will heal more and more.
I’m grateful I have Dakota…and also have Sunny, short for Sundance Kid, haha. Sunny is 12 yrs old, a golden Shep mix I adopted from the shelter as an 8 wk old pup too. He’s showing his age, mobility issues with arthritis too.
I wouldn’t want Dakota not to have a friend to play with & keep company…so knowing me, I’ll adopt a him a friend when Sunny’s gone…but gonna reduce my dog limit to 2 from 3. I have to be realistic with the fact I’m getting older, and 3 can be a bit too much at times, more costly also.

You’re welcome kiddo, and thank you for your appreciation as well. Just let me say that I know you’re strength of character will see you through this very rough time in your life; well more then any words that I can type.
01/14/2010 at 3:04 am #920226Thanks Chiefster for the strength of character compliment.
I’m told often I have strong character strength by those who know me in life, but I admit it’s taken all I can muster up these last 3 yrs. One drain on strength after another since Feb. 2007…beginning with the x-hubby’s heart attack scare, his depression thereafter starting…Lily’s seizures beginning Feb. 2008, caring for her…caring for my ill brother, then losing him not expecting it also in Feb. 2008…complete emotional breakdown by hubby Feb. 2009…resulting in divorce…now losing Lily…WHEW! haha
I know God has a plan…I just keep walking that path of life he has me on, believing God will never take me where his grace won’t protect me. That is where my inner strength comes from, God…so he deserves the credit for it.
Without going into a total life history, haha…I have this gut feeling that God decided I’d spent so much of my life taking care of others, that it was time for him to put a plan in motion. One which would result in my being able to simply take care of ‘me’…with his help & guidance…before I was completely wore out and there was no ‘me’ left, or time in life for ‘me’.
I’m too damn ornery and spunky to ever be a Saint, but figure as long as I keep it between the lines, don’t run out of bounds…God and me together will win the game, so to speak.

I’m not a big fan of February any more, hahahaha. I’m praying really hard that February 2010…won’t bring anything like the last 3 have!!
