    Stupid Yahoo! :11:

Everytime I try to use Yahoo my Norton 360 starts going nuts popping up all these warnings saying that my PC is in danger or being attacked by a harmfull file or warnings of a new worm virus so I just uninstalled it and won’t use it. Windows Live allows me to chat with any messenger on the net as long as I have theemail address or username.

    Norton 360 is crap.

Took me a few weeks to realize just how crappy it was, but Symantec is living up to their terrible reputation.

I like Norton 360. It has saved my PC from every stupid worm that knocks half the internet down. I have it in 3 PCs and a lap top and they all have no problems and when a virus attempts to intrude it gets stopped instantly.

No one has to take my advice, but if they are smart they take it.

Yup, McAfee is no better IMO.

Adaware, Malwarebytes and Spyware Doctor is what I use to protect my PC.

Good judgment and script blockers are the safest way to be on the internet.

I just use Norton 360 and as long as I keep it updated which it does automatically , I have no problems at all. Even though we never know when a threat will hit our PC the best way to keep your PC safe is to always know the source you download from and don’t go to places that are known virus havens. Basically, porn hubs , Yahoo chat rooms those are 2 definate places your PC gets attacked instantly. If you are gonna do a video chatroom it is wise to turn up your firewall defenses, the connection is an instant avenue for threats.

Lime Wire and other file sharing programs are absolutely infamous for this sort of thing.

No doubt about that. The bottom line is to make sure your firewall is up to date as well as your virus protection is up to date on virus definitions so it knows when one of the newer virus trojans is attempting to break into your PC and infect it. Usually when it happens if your stuff isn’t current the virus worm will attack files in your security programs so you will never catch on to the infection until it is to late. After it knows the security is compramised it goes to work on critical files in your Windows components taking out the drivers to programs your PC needs to support it’s operating system then out of nowhere you will be using your PC and it will either freeze or just turn off all by itself, then you can’t restart it due to the drivers to Windows boot system being destroyed. All that can be done at this stage is a destructive restore. Basically erase the Hard Drive and reinstall the OS , your PC will be like new but all files you wanted to keep will be gone so it is wise to back up your important files to a Cd or DVD as much as possible so you don’t lose the files. I learned all this the hard way.
