I feel bad for the kid…He’s gonna have a rough life if he can’t get the weight under control.
I had that same thought. I read an article a couple years ago related to how many kids in American society today are overweight and not fit. There are many contributing factors…such as the necessity these days for mom’s to work outside of the home, by comparison say to the 50’s & prior. Therefore, are unable to do much cooking of well balanced meals at home…much fast food or convenient quick cooking meals for dinner.
As well, kids are not playing as much outside as say when I was a kid. TV, video games, PC’s are all to blame of course…not as much backyard football, baseball, wrestling, hide & seek, building forts, etc.. Not as much bike riding & walking either…as many kids are provided with cars at the earliest age possible, as well as scooters, etc..
Anyway…according to Harvard, Mayo, etc….our future generations will be some of the most unhealthiest yet. They’re predicting illness related to obesity will reach all time record highs, and many will lose life earlier because they became unhealtier earlier in life…becoming overweight as children rather than as adults. They say cholesterol is already building plaque in overweight kids’ arteries, etc..
